You’re powerful. Let’s help you remember That.
Hi, I’m Ash (she/her)- mental health therapist, storm chaser, and fierce believer that empowerment is not just a buzzword, but the foundation of transformation.
I specialize in working with thoughtful, emotionally aware adults- often queer-identified, socially conscious, and delightfully nerdy- who want a therapy space where deep conversations are not just welcomed, but essential. If you’re more interested in exploring why you feel stuck rather than just slapping on a coping skill, we’ll probably get along just fine.
My style is collaborative, curious, and values-driven. I see therapy as a place to uncover your inner truth- not in a performative, fix-yourself kind of way, but through gentle inquiry into what lights you up, what holds you back, and what you're being called toward. I’ll invite you into deep conversations about what has shaped you, what’s holding you back, and what’s waiting to unfold. We’ll talk about the systems that shaped you, the internal beliefs that have stuck, and what liberation might look like from the inside out. Together, we’ll explore the stories you’ve been living- and the ones you want to write next.
Empowerment is at the heart of this work. I believe that real change happens when we reconnect with the parts of ourselves that have been silenced, shamed, or suppressed- and learn to listen to them with compassion. That’s where the magic starts. When you feel grounded in who you are, what you want, and what you stand for, the shifts that follow are not just healing- they’re transformative.
My Approach
Therapy with me isn’t about quick fixes or surface-level solutions- it’s about reconnecting to your inner wisdom, reworking unhelpful patterns, and reclaiming a life that feels aligned with who you truly are. My therapy style is warm, relational, and authentic. I show up as a real person- sometimes nerdy, sometimes irreverent, always invested. Whether we’re unpacking your internal world or dreaming up what’s next, I’ll be beside you with curiosity and care.
Here’s how we get there:
We notice the stories you’re telling yourself (and where they came from).
Many of us carry around beliefs like “I’m not good enough” or “Everything has to be perfect or I’ll fail.” These narratives often show up automatically, and they feel true even when they’re not. Together, we’ll gently challenge the thoughts and patterns that are keeping you stuck. This is part of what’s called Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)- a way of noticing how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are linked, and shifting the ones that no longer serve you.We explore the different parts of you- and help them work together.
Ever feel like one part of you wants to move forward, while another is sabotaging everything? That’s totally normal. Using a method called Internal Family Systems (IFS), we’ll get curious about these inner parts- not to get rid of them, but to understand what they’re protecting, and help them feel safe enough to step back. It's about inner harmony, not inner conflict. We focus on what really matters to you.
Healing isn’t just about reducing pain—it’s about moving toward meaning. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps us untangle from the unhelpful thoughts that keep you stuck and reconnect with your core values. We’ll ask: What kind of life do you want to live? And how can we take small, aligned steps toward it- right here, right now?A Trauma-Aware, Anti-Oppressive Frame: You don’t exist in a vacuum. The systems around you- racism, ableism, capitalism, and so on- impact how you move through the world. We’ll hold space for that, without pathologizing your response to an unjust system.
Attachment + Neurobiology-Informed Care: Your nervous system is part of the story. We’ll explore how early relationships shaped your inner world, and how we can rewire old patterns through self-compassion, connection, and insight.

bACKGROUND
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Colorado, Certified Financial Social Worker, and Certified Animal-Assisted Social Worker. My academic background includes a BA in Psychology and Communication Studies (Interpersonal Relationships emphasis) and a Master’s of Social Work from the University of Denver, including an educational track specializing in mental health, substance use, and trauma.
I’ve worked across diverse settings- including animal welfare, nonprofits an LGBTIQ+ youth drop-in center, an addiction treatment center, child welfare, and now mental health tech, where I empower therapists to become even better therapists through the power of education.
Values: My practice is queer- and trans-affirming, anti-racist, sex-positive, kink-aware, neurodiversity-affirming, and community-oriented. I’m motivated to do my own work around my privilege and power, and welcome these conversations in the therapy room.
Outside the therapy room: I’m a storm chaser (yes, literally), a cat mom of three, a giant nerd, and an eco-minimalist. I’m usually reading something about psychology or personal finance, and always looking for the next moment of wonder, whether that’s in the middle of the Great Plains capturing wild weather, on an outdoorsy adventure, or curled up with my dog, Lilah.
