Meet Ash
I'm drawn to the edges of things- the places where chaos meets clarity, where uncertainty forces us to get intentional about what matters… and ultimately, those are the places where we grow. As a storm chaser, I've learned that you can't control the weather, but you can choose how you show up for it: grounded, prepared, and clear about your values. That's how I approach therapy too. I help clients navigate their own storms by figuring out what really matters to them and taking action, even when everything feels uncertain.
I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Colorado, Certified Financial Social Worker, and Certified Animal-Assisted Social Worker. I have a BA in Psychology and Communication Studies (focusing on relationships) and a Master's of Social Work from the University of Denver, where I specialized in mental health, substance use, and trauma. Since 2014, I've worked in lots of different settings- animal welfare, an LGBTIQ+ youth drop-in center, addiction treatment, and child welfare- before moving into mental health innovation. More recently, I spent years offering support and building educational content/resources for a community of over 20,000 therapists. Now I work with mental health and AI, exploring new tools to improve the patient experience and make good care easier to access- and again, supporting therapists and clients as they navigate how to use these tools in a meaningful way.
Throughout all of this work, my focus has stayed the same: helping people figure out what they value, get the tools and support they need, and take meaningful action, even when life feels messy.
My values: My practice is queer- and trans-affirming, anti-racist, sex-positive, kink-aware, neurodivergent-affirming, and community-oriented. I'm committed to examining my own privilege and power, and I welcome these conversations in therapy. I believe therapy isn't neutral; it's a chance to look at what we've been taught, question what doesn't work for us anymore, and build lives that reflect who we actually are.
Outside the therapy room: I'm a storm chaser (yes, literally- you'll find me on the Great Plains photographing wild weather), a cat mom of three, a giant nerd, and an eco-minimalist. I practice what I preach about intentional living: making choices based on my values, finding wonder in everyday moments, and staying curious. I'm usually reading something about psychology or personal finance, and I'm always looking for the next moment of awe- whether that's watching a massive thunderstorm form, going on an outdoor adventure, or curling up with my dog, Lilah.
